phylum | Chordata | Nanantius (Gr. "dwarf opposite [bird]") was a bird of the Early Cretaceous of Australia, known from isolated limb elements. It was likely marine or shore-associated, given that remains have been found in the gut of an ichthyosaur. It was probably an enantiornithine bird, since this was the most common group at the time it lived, but not enough remains are known to be completely certain.
