Lake Eyre Flamingos lived on the vast, shallow lakes which were once found in central Australia. Like their modern relatives in other parts of the world, these birds probably lived in huge flocks that gathered to feed on the tiny creatures that swarmed in the warm water. Wading through the shallows, the birds would dip their beaks into the water, filtering out algae and crustaceans." |
