phylum | Chordata | Tingamarra is an extinct genus of genus of therian mammal from the Eocene of Australia. It is known only from a single tooth, which has been interpreted as belonging to a primitive placental mammal, possibly a stem ungulate. However, some have argued that the tooth belongs to a marsupial, and its morphology exhibits simple convergence. It was a small animal, perhaps the size of a fox, although estimates are difficult given the scant remains.
