phylum | Chordata | Timimus is an extinct genus of theropod dinosaur described on the basis of two unpaired leg bones from the Early Cretaceous of southern Australia. Some other fragments such as vertebrae may also belong to the genus. Initially thought to be an ornithomimosaur, which may not have even been present in the southern continents at this time, its placement within the theropods is not known with any confidence. The leg bones were slender and long, which suggests that it was a good runner.
