| domain | Eukaryota | Pseudoctenis lanei is a species of cycad tree from the Triassic to Jurassic, common in Europe. It has a strong resemblance to the existing genus Encephalartos. These plants have a stout and woody truck with a crown of large, hard and stiff evergreen leaves, reaching a height of 15 meters (50 feet). The (naked) seeds of cycads are open to the air for pollination. A cycad tree is either a male or a female.
