Plants, also called green plants, are typically multicellular eukaryotes of the kingdom Plantae. They include flowering plants, conifers and other gymnosperms, ferns, clubmosses, hornworts, mosses and the green algae. Red and brown algae are excluded. Green plants have cell walls with cellulose, and obtain energy from sunlight via photosynthesis by chloroplasts, derived from endosymbiosis with cyanobacteria.
