phylum | Chordata | Nanotyrannus (Gr. "small tyrant") is a nominal genus of extinct tyrannosaurid dinosaur known from the Late Cretaceous of North America. Described as a mid-sized predator, most paleontologists now consider it instead to be a juvenile Tyrannosaurus rex.
