Kaiyodo is a Japanese company that makes small plastic animal models for Gashapon machines, zoos and aquariums as collector series. They have made many series of figures, animals as well as other types of figures. Their animal series include dinosaurs, aquatic life, animals of Japan, pets and others. The company was founded by Miyawaki Shuichi as a small hobby shop in 1964 and began producing their own figures in 1984. Their first animal series were the Chocoegg figures, a collaboration with Furuta in 1999.
