phylum | Arthropoda | The giant whip scorpion, or giant vinegaroon, is a species of order Thelyphonida or Uropygi. Excluding the tail, lenght is a maximun of 60 mm or 2.4 inches. There are six walking legs, two thin front legs used as feelers, and two large pedipalps modified into claws for crushing its prey, such as insects. The tail is whip like, and from its base this arachnid can spray an acetic acid solution to defend itself. The range is Mexico and the southern US.
