The **Dung beetles** are a diverse group of beetles, mostly belonging to the subfamily **Scarabaeinae** within the family Scarabaeidae. They are defined by their unique feeding behavior: **coprophagy**, the consumption of feces (dung). These beetles play a critical ecological role, quickly burying and recycling dung, which helps with soil health, nutrient cycling, and parasite control. They are famously classified by their behavior as "rollers," "tunnelers," and "dwellers."
