Catsharks are ground sharks of the family Scyliorhinidae, with 17 genera and around 160 species. Generally known as catsharks, many are commonly called dogfish or gato. They feed on benthic invertebrates and small fish. Catsharks have elongated, cat-like eyes and two small dorsal fins set far back. Most species are small, less than 80 cm (31 in).
