phylum | Chordata | Anderson's crocodile newt is a species of salamander in the Salamandridae family found in Japan, and, at least formerly, in Taiwan, where it is believed to be regionally extinct. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical seasonally wet or flooded lowland grassland, swamps, and freshwater marshes. It is threatened by habitat loss.
