phylum Chordata Abelisaurus (Gr. "Abel's lizard") is a genus of carnivorous theropod dinosaur known from a single skull. The skull was found in rocks dating to the Late Cretaceous period and suggest an animal with a length of seven to nine meters. It lived in South America.
