Anomalocaris was a bizarre, predatory sea creature about 60 cm long. Its name means "odd shrimp", although it is not related to modern prawns and shrimps. Anomalocaris was one of the largest animals of its time--and probably one of the most ferocious. It had long pincers at the front of its body for grabbing prey such as trilobites, and a round mouth full of sharp teeth." |
