The Frome Freshwater Dolphin lived in great lakes which once existed in Central Australia. It shared its home with relatives of today's Platypus, as well as many different species of fish. Its long, thin snout contained sharp teeth which the dolphin used to catch its prey. Today relatives of this dolphin can still be found in rivers in South America and India.
