phylum | Chordata | Tucanoichthys tucanoi is a very small (less than 2 cm) tetra endemic to a tributary of the Rio Negro in Brazil. It's named for a group of indigenous tribes in the upper Amazon region of Colombia and Brazil. Despite its small known range and probable rarity, it has found its way into the pet trade.
