phylum | Chordata | Trimeresurus rubeus, commonly known as the ruby-eyed green pit viper, is a venomous pit viper species endemic to Southeast Asia. No subspecies are currently recognized. This species was discovered in Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary in eastern Cambodia by researchers at Bangor University. The species has also been recorded from the low hills of southern Vietnam including Cat Tien National Park, 160 km. from Ho Chi Minh city and in the Langbian Plateau area.
