phylum Arthropoda Eupatorus birmanicus, is a species of rhinoceros beetle. It is named for the "rabbit-like" projections on the head. The rabbit ear rhinoceros beetle is most typically found in southeast Asia, especially Myanmar and Thailand. Its coloring is shiny jet-black. The body is covered by a thick exoskeleton and a pair of thick wings lay atop another set of membranous wings underneath, allowing the beetle to fly, although not very efficiently, owing to its large size.
