Footnotes
1. Some collectors treat this figure as an Irrawaddy dolphin or possibly some other species of light-colored, short-snouted dolphin or porpoise such as the Risso’s dolphin or the snubfin dolphin, due to the presence of a dorsal fin that beluga whales do not have. However, the figure is officially and obviously intended to be a beluga whale: it is marked "Beluga”, belonged to a “Whales” series (a dolphin likely would not be marketed in such a series, despite them technically being considered whales), and was also part of an “Arctic” series (belugas, are well known for living in the Arctic, but Irrawaddy dolphins, for example, do not live there).
