Petitcollin is a French company founded in 1860 in Étain, Meuse. Originally, it manufactured horn combs. In 1901, he turned his attention to the manufacture of celluloid beauty accessories. The year 1912 saw the birth of the Petit Colin bather, the brand's flagship product, which revolutionized the world of dolls by offering a bathable doll at an affordable price, unlike traditional dolls of the time. Petitcollin was a highly successful and innovative company, and one of France's most prestigious doll manufacturers until the 1950s.

In 1961, Petitcollin quickly mastered a new process: roto-molding, enabling the manufacture of hollow vinyl toys. From 1970 onwards, Petitcollin encountered numerous difficulties, until it was bought out in 1995 by Vilac, a manufacturer of wooden toys in the Jura region. The company still exists today.

The company also produced a few animal figurines on an anecdotal basis.
