phylum | Chordata | Sometimes called "flexiraptor" colloquially, Pengana is an extinct genus of raptor known only from fossils of leg elements. Found in Miocene deposits in Riversleigh, Queensland, the ankle joint reveals adaptations for an unusual level of dexterity, suggesting that perhaps this bird of prey winkled prey from cavities or crevices.
