phylum | Chordata | Nimiokoala was a diprotodont marsupial of the middle Miocene (10-16 million years ago) of Australia. It was smaller than a modern koala and probably ate leaves, but there's no evidence that it was as specialized as the eucalyptus-eating modern koala.
