| phylum | Arthropoda | Megabalanus rosa is a species of acorn barnacle in the family Balanidae. Members of the genus grow to 7 cm. (2 in.) in length and inhabit the lower intertidal zone. The organism is a suspension feeder in a calcium carbonate shell of five plates, grabbing particulate matter from the water.
