'Best of the West' was a line of 12" scale figures produced by Louis Marx and Company. The line began in 1964 with the first figures but didn't get the name 'Best of the West' until the early 1970s. Over the years a number of different body types were produced for the horses, and then further varied through differing paint. The buffalo was introduced in 1969, and was the only large animal other than the horses. There were also two dogs for the series.
