The Lionhead rabbit, originating in Belgium and France in the 20th century, is a small breed known for its distinctive mane. Developed by crossing Swiss Fox and Netherland Dwarf rabbits, they have a compact body (8-10 inches) and weigh 2.5-3.75 lbs. Their most recognizable feature is the long, woolly mane encircling the head, resembling a lion's. Lionheads have short, upright ears and come in a variety of coat colors.
