Lincoln Logs were invented in 1916, by John Lloyd Wright, son of Frank Lloyd Wright. In 1918, the toy was marketed by the Red Square Toy Company and by John Lloyd Wright, Incorporated of Chicago, Illinois. It is currently marketed under the Knex brand, a subsidiary of Hasbro. Figures were released with some log sets over the years. The first were made of lead. For a time they used figures form Auburn Rubber Company in their sets, and have used other plastic figures as well.
