The Fulgoridae family, commonly known as Lanternflies or Lanthorn Flies, is a large group of hemipteran insects in the suborder Auchenorrhyncha and superfamily Fulgoroidea. They are especially abundant and diverse in the tropics, containing over 125 genera worldwide. These insects are often of moderate to large size and are known for their brilliant and varied coloration, with some species (like those in genera *Fulgora* and *Pyrops*) featuring elaborate head projections. Despite their name, they do not emit light.
