In the 1930's Georg Phil. Kienel started production of composition soldiers. His company was based in Steinach (Thuringia - Germany).
After World War II, Kienel switched to the production of small cars made of wood and tinplate. The company has also produced a few series of animals in composition. Rather than a wire "frame", wood was used, especially for the legs.
