The Icelandic Horse is a breed of small horses, originally brought to Iceland by the vikings. During over 1000 years they were the only means of transportation in Iceland, and during that time the breed has been almost 100 % pure. The Icelandic horse is well known for having five gaits : Walk, Trot, Galop, Pace, and Tölt. For more specific information see the Wikipedia page on Icelandic Horses.
