phylum | Mollusca | Meretrix lusoria, with common names Asian hard clam, hamaguri, and common orient clam, is a species of saltwater clam in the family Veneridae, the Venus clams. It is heavily exploited commercially, and also raised in aquaculture, especially in Japan. Shell length reaches 96 mm (3.75 in).
