phylum | Chordata | Groenlandaspis is an extinct genus of arthrodire placoderm from the Devonian Period. The name means "shield from Greenland," because its fossils were first discovered in Greenland. As an arthrodire, it had a hinged head and neck shield. It was a small fish, only 6-8 cm in length.
