| The Tessaratomidae comprise a family of insects in the order Hemiptera (true bugs), suborder Heteroptera. They are commonly referred to as giant shield bugs or giant stink bugs, due to their generally large size (some reaching over 40 mm) and shield-like shape, often resembling those in the closely related family Pentatomidae. The Tessaratomidae are primarily found in tropical and subtropical regions of Asia and Australasia, and contain over 240 described species worldwide.
