phylum | Chordata | Gastonia is a genus of ankylosaurian dinosaur known from Early Cretaceous fossils found in North America. It was a medium-sized, club-less nodosaurid, related to Polacanthus. It is known from many relatively complete skeletons, so its appearance is well understood. It reached a length of five to six metres and bore heavy armor, including spikes on its back and over its shoulders.
