| phylum | Mollusca | The California blue dorid, Felimare californiensis, is a species of colourful sea slug or dorid nudibranch, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Chromodorididae that eats dysideid sponges. This nudibranch is found in the Eastern Pacific Ocean along the Californian coast, from Monterey Bay through Baja California and into the Gulf of California. The body grows to a length of 90 mm and has a striking blue mantle and foot with moderately large yellow-orange spots. The gills and rhinophores are typically blue or yellow, matching the body's coloration.
