phylum | Chordata | Ekaltadeta is an extinct genus of marsupials related to modern rat-kangaroos. Their dentition suggests that they may have been at least partly carnivorous, leading to the nickname "killer kangaroos." They are known from the Oligocene-Pleistocene of Australia.
