phylum | Chordata | Diprotodon is an extinct genus of diprotodont marsupial that lived in Australia during the Pleistocene epoch. It was large (up to 3 meters in length) and somewhat resembled a rhino-sized wombat. Its closest living relatives are the wombats and koala.
