This species occurs widely throughout the Indo-Pacific region, with records spanning from Oman to Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippine Islands, Indonesia, and Australia. It is typically a large nudibranch, reaching up to 100 mm in length, characterized by its complex pattern of white, brown, and black longitudinal stripes over a pale body.
