phylum | Chordata | Climatius is a genus of spiny shark. Early Devonian fossils have been found in Europe and North America. It was an active swimmer with a powerful caudal fin and abundant stabilizing fins, preying on other fish and crustaceans. Although it was only 7.5 cm (3 in), it had 15 sharp spines.
