phylum | Mollusca | Cameroceras is a genus of extinct, giant orthoconic cephalopods that lived during the Ordovician period from 470 to 460 million years ago. Length may have been 10 meters, with tentacles 1 m long. It was an apex predator of fish and arthropods. Fossils have been found in the United States and China.
