C.B.G. is one of the oldest toy soldier companies in the world. The C.B.G. trademark was registered in 1874, but the adventure began in 1825 with Augustin Cuperly, who produced the first pewter toys and married Alexandrine Blondel in 1838. Their daughter married Sosthène Gerbeau in 1858. So that's it for the initials CBG. It was in 1897 that Henri Mignot, Mr Cuperly's grand-nephew, was taken on. He took over as head of the C.B.G. Mignot company in 1912 and gave it a tremendous boost both in France and internationally. Figures in France are known as C.B.G. while internationally they are known as Mignot. Between 1936 and 1939, CBG offered "Mignalu" aluminium figures, and between 1955 and 1960, "Mignalux" plastic figures. These experiments fizzled out too. They have produced many figures over the years, in animals both wild and domestic are known and they also have made dinosaurs.
