American Mastiff

The term "mastiff type" has been used synonymously with the term "Molosser". For example, Bullmastiff, Dogo Argentino, Neapolitan Mastiff etc.

Outside USA they are referred to by their breed name. But USA,when mentioning "Mastiff" as a breed, it is usually the American Mastiff, which is recognized by CKC sice January of 2000.
