From 1909, Albert Caasmann initially worked as a freelancer for the toy company Lineol in Brandenburg. After serving as a soldier in the First World War, Caasmann was the company's chief modeller and production manager from 1919 to 1952. He designed over 600 varied figures, such as soldiers, animals, Indians, knights, fairy tale figures, railway figures, which had a very natural look. Caasmann spent a lot of time in the Berlin zoo, where he modelled his animal designs.
Caasmann worked as a freelance porcelain artist mainly for the Philipp Rosenthal porcelain factory in Selb until the early 1920s. He also created models for a porcelain factory in Volkstedt.
The city of Brandenburg named a street after Caasmann.
